Call for Presentations
The Woody Plant Conference Committee invites expert speakers to present at the 2026 Woody Plant Conference on Friday, July 17, 2026.
We are seeking dynamic, experienced, and diverse speakers to deliver engaging and informative presentations on topics related to woody plants that thrive in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Topics of Interest Include:
- Emerging trends in woody plant cultivation
- Innovations in landscape design featuring woody plants
- Best practices for disease and pest management
- New and underused woody plant species
- Deep dive about a genus or group of plants
- Horticultural innovation and sustainable practices
Speaker Requirements:
- Expertise in horticulture, landscape architecture, or a related field
- Proven experience with professional speaking engagements
- Ability to present to a knowledgeable audience of industry professionals
- Relevance to the Mid-Atlantic region’s climate and growing conditions

Important Information:
- Please complete one submission for each topic you would like the committee to consider, up to 3 topics/submissions.
- Please be advised that this form is for self-nominations only. Nominations of others will not be considered.
- We recommend drafting your submission in a separate document, as this form does not automatically save your progress.
- Submissions are due August 15, 2025.
- All submissions will be reviewed by the Committee. Those accepted to speak will be contacted in October 2026.
- Speaker honoraria ranges from $300 to $1500 depending on the length of presentation (25 minutes – 60 minutes).
- Travel, hotel accommodation, and meals are included in addition to honoraria.
